LAZERSHARKS got their first real action of the fall season. They took down the winless SUPER EFFECTIVE with a 3-1 score. The DIRT DEVILS showed this week and they are pretty good. They defeated JUST DINKING AROUND with a 3-1 score. JDA then played SUPER EFFECTIVE for the second time. They won that game to go to (1-2) on the season.

Dirt Devils Make their Move
For the first game of the night, the DIRT DEVILS swept SUPER EFFECTIVE. SE still needs to win a match. For the second game of the night, the DIRT DEVILS beat the LAZERSHARKS 3-1. This is the LAZERSHARKS first loss of the year. For the last game, the LAZERSHARKS swept JUST DRINKING AROUND.

Dirt Devils Win Again
The DIRT DEVILS swept JUST DINKING AROUND. JDA won the second game, but couldn’t get another one by.

The Lazersharks got another victory via forfeit. SUPER EFFECTIVE was actually super defective.

Playoffs Are Set!
It was a fast regular season. It came to an end with JUST DINKING AROUND getting their payback against the LAZERSHARKS. The SHARKS swept them earlier in the year, so they were out for blood. JDA got the win with a 3-1 score and improved to (3-3). The SHARKS finished at (4-2). These two teams will play each other in the first round next week.

In the second game, the DIRT DEVILS improved on their season. Their only loss has been the first week forfeit. The beat SUPER EFFECTIVE 3-1. SE ended their regular season without winning a match. These two teams will be the 1 vs 4 matchup next week.

Make sure to register for the Rainier Whiffle Ball Tournament on October 11th and the Zombie Kickball Tournament on October 25th.

PLAYOFFS View Bracket
Dirt Devils, Lazersharks Advance
The playoffs got underway. The top seeded DIRT DEVILS didn’t hold anything back. They swept SUPER EFFECTIVE in three games.

The second game lived up to the hype. Both teams split throughout the season, so there was some bad blood. Unfortunately, two of the big players for JUST DINKING AROUND were home sick. JUST DINKING AROUND won the first game but lost the next two. In game 4, JDA won 15-9 to force a deciding game 5. The game was back and forth until the 8 point mark. The LAZERSHARKS got on a roll and took game five and the series. They will play the DIRT DEVILS next week for the championship. SUPER EFFECTIVE and JUST DINKING AROUND will play in the consolation game.

Hurry up and register for the Zombie Kickball Tournament on October 25, 2015 at Barnum Park. There will be prizes for the best costumes as well as a pig roast at the Classic Tavern after the game.

PLAYOFFS View Bracket
Lazersharks Win Championship
JUST DINKING AROUND and SUPER EFFECTIVE didn’t show up, so there wasn’t a consolation game.

Moving on to the championship, THE DIRT DEVILS couldn’t round up a girl, so they played with three guys. The LAZERSHARKS played with three guys and one girl. In the first game, the DIRT DEVILS looked bad. They were only able to score five points. The DIRT DEVILS took game one 15-5. In the second game, the DEVILS rebounded pretty well. They would win the second game 15-11 to tie the match back up at one game apiece. The pivotal game three would go back to the LAZERSHARKS. It was clear that the team on the north side had the advantage.

Mike Durbin of the LAZERSHARKS, said that that wasn’t true. He stated that they just had a bad second game and that he would prove it by winning the match on game 4. The game was back and forth. The SHARKS took the 14-12 lead. With only one point left to score, they would squander their chances. The DEVILS scored two more to tie it back up at 14. But then the SHARKS struck twice to win the game 16-14.

Thanks for the great season! There is an end of the year Pig Roast celebration at the Classic Tavern at 2:00 pm on October 25th.
